About me.

My name is John O’Malley, and I was born and raised in West Sussex.  I also have strong family links to both the west of Ireland, and Scotland.   I am a former croupier, and History teacher.

I have always had a strong love of History, and used to enjoy pretending to be a Saxon when I played in the Sussex woodland as a child.  Later on I studied History at school and then at university, where I took a BA degree.  I also have a love of rhyme, and when teaching, I used to make up rhymes to hopefully make my lessons more entertaining for the pupils, and easier to remember.

I have a particular interest in the English monarchy and how it has endured over the centuries, so decided to write my blog about the monarchy starting with William the Conqueror.
